Heres my take on an arcology. It is made up on outer ringed veranda areas for growing vegitation, parks and wooded areas. With seveal habitation decks with lesuire, recreation and shopping areas on each deck. The entrance is the mode of tight security with a large open reception and security check-point which leads to the service elevators. Solar pannels provide much of the installations power needs but not the power of the citizens; that power is generated and stored underground in a series of batteries with its own self replenising generators.
A communications aray at the top keep the TVs, radios etc with a clear signal. It is evident that people should not live so close to each other and vacumed walls keep noise poultion to a minium. My propsed arcology is quite wide but is not very tall and should have a population of around 1,500.Full time employees would tend the crops, shops, childs kresh and sports areas. While others go out to work.
The London Congestion problem and simular cities
1. The park & Ride station as high security multistorey car parks with easy access to bus, tube and rail networks. Those who car pool to these stations will be rewarded with cheaper parking time.
2. The ring roads are there to allow for an easy access from station to station and airports.
3.In first hub is reserved for any traffic with a congestion charge. Residents will not be charged at certain times, nor will trade, poilce, fire or cabs. Another ring road is set aside for people to circle the inner circle which is 98% Pedestrianised and made for cyclists. Those inside this hub have to be Trade, service or cab.
4. Its not perfect but its an idea.

" A portable Power Soultion "
This novel little idea was struck upon after having a conversation with my Unlce Joseph (my name sake) who was talking about Solar Power roof installing, I brought this idea forward and put into the hands (literary) of the open market. The idea itself is pretty self explainatory
Personally I know that the amount of engery produced by this system would be small at best, so if you had the walls of your house or floor lined with these tanks or cells they would not only act as incerlation they would heat your house and power it.
You just need to switch the power on for hot water and the heating system comes into effect or you could simply keep a few on acting as radiators and this could be then stored in a battery for future use.
The Trolley POS
When Working Torex Retail I came up with this Soultion for the Virgin Rail Contract as we would have a problem of displaced engineers costing our company money and causing problems for the rail company as they had to deal with sales maunaully while the static till was fixed.
So this portable POS unit would allow for a swop of POS at selected stations, leaving the Data and uninterupted Sale duration, customers and Sales staff happy they are still using a working POS and my old company happy so that the engineer does not end up in Edinborough with a full days work left behind him.
The engineer would stay on site and fix the broken POS and leave it on site. The Trolley POS features its own battery so that it can be used as main power or backup but other wise is the normal POS unit. Each part of the trolley and hardware has been setup to deal with the shocks and movment of the trains movement, velcro straps secure it to the wall with locked wheels. Giving each Trolley POS would be a novel idea so that each engineer is moving around a thing and not an object. Names like Authur, Lancealot etc
This could be used for a single Soultion or even made and prepared as a seperate product for the open market. I am think of the giant railroad of the US and Canada.
The Eco Shower
As every good person knows, you get in the shower dirty and leave the shower clean. The first load of water will naturally be the dirtest, then ever decreasing in dirty/water vaules. This means if you had a certain allowence of water to get yourself mostly clean, then pressed a button on your shower for to add to the water but outside or be pumped back into the shower system to be filtered, cleaned and reheated for use later. (all in house)
This will not be added to the 'drinking water' quailty stock water but could be held over for garden use etc. Of course the last part of the shower is washing your hair, a very chemical intensive part. This water would be sent back to the main drainage system.
Having the option to add ecesese shower water to back to the system as second grade water, could be achiveable by the touch of a button.
Sea Rescue platform
In memory of Marcus and the honorable ones who save lives every day
The portable sea platform or 'large boi' is an under slung colapse ablelight wieght frame. The idea is that when a ship is lost at sea a helicopter could drop a large number of these bois into the ocean as rescue platforms. They are light but exellecent at staying up right and dealing with rough sea condictions. These can be used as stable pickup points for surviors or the whole boi could be rasied back to the chopper.
The beauty about these platforms are they can easily be modified to include a solar pannel fueled light source, a radio emeter for pin pointing which boi survivours have made it to. A platform could even be kitted up for short range dives with an oxygen system for emergency rescue and retrival.
Sterile Bandage
This concept is for a sealed reel of sticky, enzyme coated bandage/plaster which can be applied to the wound and then cut accordingly. This concept has been donated to the British Red Cross.
The designs of which would be quite futuristic and cool.
The Hydroponic Tunnel Farm
The farm is made up of long semi-circular sheets of light weight metal which are prefabed together. The foundations of which are dug to the plans and the water catch system is laid, then back filled with common soil. A membrain is then laid over the top of this which allows for the water to flow through it but holds back the mixing of the soil. Also a set of heating pipes / cooling pipes could be laid at the same time.
Over the top is placed a large long trench of treated soil which is prefect for growing conditions i.e filtered in a lab, added the correct amount of non harmful chemicals etc. This could be then exported to the farm site.
Not only are is their a wide space copasity for the main crop but also two editional trenches are suspended from either side to add more acres of growth. These are secondary crops but also feed the water recylce system.
Above these would be suspended the solar-powered UV system, which could be used in extreme condictions such as the suhara or artic reaches of course the tunnel sections would have to be complete with several walls of vacums so that heat / coldness does not penitate and temputre controls could be changed from section to section.

Stage one: buy / obtain contract for trash or landfill site. Stage two: Buy old quarry build incenirator / scrubbers turbines and complex of green houses. three: burn trash. Make cheap electrizity/govement contract for removal of trash + crops :) nice one.
